Shopify B2B Isn’t Plus-Only Anymore… And That’s a Big Deal (With a Catch)

For years, Shopify kept B2B locked behind the Plus paywall. Want wholesale pricing, company accounts, custom catalogs? Cool… just sign here for enterprise. That’s changed. As of 2026, Shopify is rolling B2B features down into Basic, Grow, and Advanced plans. And we’ll say it straight—this is a big move. It opens up B2B at a historically low barrier to entry and price point.

The Good: B2B Just Got a Lot More Accessible

Brands that used to sit on the sidelines can now actually get in the game.

You can set up company profiles, offer basic B2B pricing, and start testing wholesale without making a massive upfront bet. For a long time, that simply wasn’t an option without going all-in.

That’s a win.

The Reality: This Isn’t a Full B2B Machine

Before we all start spinning up wholesale divisions over lunch, let’s keep one foot on the ground. This isn’t a full-blown B2B machine.

Once you push past the basics, you’ll feel it. Customization gets tight. Pricing and catalog control have limits. The deeper stuff—approvals, deposits, complex workflows—the things real B2B businesses rely on day-to-day… not really here. And that’s where Plus is still sitting, arms crossed, doing what it does best. More control. More flexibility. Infrastructure that actually matches how B2B operates when it’s not just a side experiment.

The Take: This Is Exactly What It Should Be

We don’t think Shopify got this wrong. They didn’t try to make every plan a B2B powerhouse. They made B2B accessible. They lowered the barrier so more brands can test, learn, and build something before going all in. Is it perfect? Nope. Is it enough to get started? Absolutely. And honestly, that’s kind of the sweet spot.

The Bottom Line

If you’re early, this is a no-brainer way to dip your toe into wholesale. If it works, great—you scale it. If it really works, you’re probably heading to Plus anyway. Or, in plain Titan Talk: B2B isn’t Plus-only anymore… and that’s a damn good thing. Just don’t expect entry-level to run like enterprise.
